HCDVCC is conducting a systemic assessment to identify how systems protect and serve victims of domestic violence in Harris County. Community members have volunteered their time to serve on a team that will complete a community safety assessment of Harris County that will identify gaps in services and enable the Council to develop a strategic plan to close identified gaps and improve service delivery. The community assessment is evidence based, and will identify what services exist, how services work on behalf of victims, define what is missing, and recommend improvements for coordination of services needed to protect the safety of victims of domestic violence in our community. The assessment, completed by professionals from each major service agency in Harris County, will result in an evidence-based plan for Harris County, who sees the largest number of deaths in Texas that are the result of domestic violence. It will create a national model of coordination and collaboration that reduces and prevents domestic violence.
