UpStart for Families: Building Resilience Through Communication

Join us for a conversation with Dr. Ursula Johnson. She will be talking about Texas Children’s Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine programs to help expectant parents and families with young children. The programs are designed to support children’s early brain and language development, perinatal maternal mental health health, social drivers of health, and maternal-child health and wellness.

About our Featured Speaker:

Dr. Urusla Johnson

Dr. Ursula Johnson manages a state funded child maltreatment prevention grant in the Division of Public Health Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital. Previously, Dr. Johnson served as the Deputy Director of Assessment and Evaluation and Deputy Director for Training and Impact in the Programs Department at Harris County Precinct 1. She was also an Assistant Professor at the Children’s Learning Institute at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, where she developed and evaluated programs to support parents and early childhood teachers of young children. She holds a bachelor’s in Psychology from University of Houston, a master’s in Counseling Psychology from Houston Baptist University, and a PhD in Educational Psychology with a specialization in Research, Measurement, and Statistics from University of North Texas-Denton.
